Day One Hundred
-100-
To mark Day One Hundred, those of us who are able will try and all sit at the same time today. The times are below, and also coincide with the meditation group that Lorianne leads from 12.15 to 12.45 h, US Eastern Time.
Apologies for the confused messages about this over the past couple of days. If this leads to anyone sitting at a different time, I am totally convinced that we will all feel you intention and presence anyway!
US Pacific 9 am
US Mountain 10 am
US/Canada Eastern 12.00 noon
Canada Atlantic 1 pm
GMT 5 pm
Continental Europe 6 pm
Queensland, Australia 3 am, Thursday 2 Nov
Japan and Korea 4 am, Thursday 2 Nov
If your time zone is not included, there is a user-friendly time-zone converter here: http://tinyurl.com/3k1l

Oh my goodness, I completely screwed up the times for group sit yesterday - I'm really sorry, everyone! I suggested moving them forward by one hour in order to coincide with Lorianne's meditatin group, and then moved them back to the original times!
I expect there will be someone who doesn't see this and sits at a different time, and I am so sorry, but,as I said above, it is the intention that counts and that will reach us all through the ether.
Lorianne, thanks for your concern. I am doing okay, taking care of myself and getting some support from the staff counsellor at my workplace, whom I like very much.
I probably, though, should not try to work out anything involving figures (not my forte) when I am feeling so fraught.
All is forgiven, Jean...and I'm glad your staff counselor has been of help. Having occasionally relied upon the EAP (employee assistance program) at various schools where I've taught, I know how helpful it can be to have that sort of resource at hand.
(And I'm no good with time-zone calculations even when I'm not feeling fraught, so there's no need to apologize about that!)
As it turns out, I think Jean & are are on the same psychic time zone since I posted Day 100 only to find that she had posted it, too, while I was online. As we'd say in the States, "Jinx, you owe me a Coke." ;-)
no worries Jean - my watch is set to bleep to give me a five minute warning! Thanks for working it out at all - I love numbers except when working with timezones ... when the whole "it's day somewhere / night somewhere / 12pm is my subjective experience" thing messes with my head too much and distracts me :)
I'm glad you have some support at work Jean - and that you're able to allow yourself to access it.
See you all later then xx
[[Jean]]. I'm all set. Absolutely no worries, as Stray says. Look after yourself and thank you again for taking the trouble to do this ...
((Jean)) Thanks for setting this up. I'm on schedule.
Having a slightly mad day, so not able to maintain a great deal of focus, but thought of you all frequently over the past hour and a bit and did a tiny mental exercise of imaginary brainwaves bouncing up and out of the atmosphere and then back down to land in various places in america, london, italy etc. In reality I guess there is a possibility that this is happening as part of the process of writing-posting-pageloading-reading anyway :)
Hugs to all, Sx
It's been a crazy-busy day, but it was great to sit "with" you all! I'm not sure if I made much sense when I explained to the group that we were sitting with folks from all over the world, but they patiently listened while I tried to make it make sense. :-)
The funniest part, though, is that I was running late, so I drove to campus, fuming & swearing under my breath at all the students who were walking in crosswalks and RUSHING to get the last parking spot in the faculty lot before another car. I thought it was pretty ironic to be in such a frantic RUSH to go MEDITATE, but I guess that's the yin & yang of my existence!!!
Have we decided when to start the next round of 100 days?
Happy anniversary, everybody. I sat late this evening after having read blogs and eaten yoghurt, and caught up on doings here. Hugs and encouragement to all, especially Jean and Ruth.
Opened an eye at 8:55 this morning (I've already forgotten how to wake up like a working person), sat up, piled up some pillows for a cushion, and meditated twenty minutes. Feeling very fond of you all.
Lorianne, I always think the same thing when I rush off to the sangha to meditate in the evening. What's wrong with this picture? :-)
I wasn't able to join you today, but I'm in for the next 100 days!
Best to all...
Dale, you might chuckle to know that I was similarly rushed and un-mindful when I drove to tonight's yoga class. Maybe I need a good masseuse!!!! :-)
How about we take a week "between" and start with Monday 6 November as the next Day One? (It seems a long time to wait for Dec.1)
