Sat in the dark just after 7.00am. A solid grey knot of fear around the heart and solar plexus area. It didn't shift, not really. I just reminded myself not to avoid it, just to let it be. And brought the mind back to the breath. Tried to think of everyone else out there too.

Waiting for a critical phone call/email regarding the sale of my home today or tomorrow. Don't know exactly when. Very anxious.

Best to all.

Oh Mary, I'm sorry it feels so awful. My experience with holding a really awful feeling in meditation is that it often disperses more quickly if you experience it like this, so physically, rather than pushing it way. I hope this will be the case for you. Lots of love.

Jean. Thanks. I've been realising more and more that it is the avoidance of feelings that causes as much discomfort as the feelings themselves .... As a practised "avoider" it takes some unlearning just to let it be.

The practice helps.

So true!

So true!

This has been one of my greatest epiphanies - acknowledging the resistance thing. Ever so hard to recognize and drop the resistance, turn into the real source of pain (emotional or physical) and just be with it. It's a mite miraculous how the pain can diminish once you move into this mode.

This was a major unlearning experience for me, almost counterintuitive according to old conditioning.

Mary, sending warmest thoughts for a positive outcome for you! Been there on the cliffhanger house thing.
