PLEASE SEE YESTERDAY'S COMMENTS FOR TIMES TO SIT TOGETHER TODAY - WE DO THIS ONCE A MONTH.

See and feel you all later!

and will say a gentle goodbye to Dale's cat when we all sit together - I'm so sorry, that's tough so soon after the other one died.

How particularly nice to have new companions and John back among us today.

good morning 100 days community.

i sat yesterday for a little over five minutes.

not optimal, but like i said yesterday, my goal is to develop a daily sitting habit and the length of time isn't so important right now.

beth: good to be back here.

Yeah - Jean got there first - feel you all later, if you get my meaning. Ha!

Good morning

looking at my calendar to arrange my day so I can make the space to sit with all of you later

been having a tough time lately sticking to my commitment for zazen ... too busy, too distracted, too this, too that ... how feeble and whiny is that

anyway, John, I like your idea about establishing the habit again, even if only for five minutes … finding and fitting in bits of time throughout the day just doesn't work for me

I like this metaphor from Kim over at This Zen Life
“just show up, pay attention, keep practicing. and when i don't feel like doing it, do it anyway”

Hey, everyone...just checking in to say "hey" before tonight's sit...

John's idea of a "minimum practice" is a fantastic one. I find it's *much* easier to start & maintain a practice *habit* if you commit to doing a little bit everyday vs. a lot when you have time.

Welcome to Pilgrimage (from yesterday's comment). Maybe John's example of meditating a little bit every day would apply to you as well: one way of using those 5 minutes before your little girl wakes up?

"See" everyone later...

John, Janice, Lorianne... thanks, I appreciate the reminder that a little bit is better than nothing at all.

Pilgrimage, any meditation or prayer time at all, when you're looking after a three year old, has to be accounted a triumph!

hello everyone. this is a pre-sit sending love and peace thing from me as I will most certainly be asleep in an hour.

I have been hanging on by a thread with all the tumult here in Postcard industries...but I have managed at least 5 minutes. Today was twenty and much enjoyed.

Tonight we went to see a prayer in film - Terrence Malik's 'New World'. I feel like I have been sitting with the water cleaving the stone for two hours so can assure you of my calmest vibes even in sleep.

A very special thought for Dale's white cat. We have two whom I love more than anything else in the world. They are such open spirits and such great teachers of presence and I can really feel your loss. Big hug.

Hmm... the main page vanished for me again, so I've come in through the back door. I wonder if I can comment this way?

Aha! Not only could I comment -- doing so brought the page back! I guess it forced a republish.

Anyway -- sat here in the office at (my) 3 pm for ten minutes, being very fond of you all.

Have a good weekend, everyone!

Interesting goings on with the page. Hmmm...

Much better goings on with the sit. Yes, fondness all round.

My 20 minutes was sleepy, but I thought of you all between the drowsy nods...

Pilgrimage, your meditation is your beautiful child. I used to chant a bit silently while we were walking, or while I was cooking put on a beautiful tape with a chant on it and sing along while I prepared food, each round of the mantra blessing the food, the process of preparation, my children, my partner, house, city, country, planet, solar system, universe...

Yeah, get carried away!

And I feel so bad... I got called to an emergency tutoring session with a university student & forgot. I could have chanted on the 45 minute walk home, but I forgot and instead braced myself in the icey cold northerly winds feeling that Winter's gone on too long and hurried home.

If I sit now, can I do a timeshift, and make it 2 hours ago?

With you all!

Much love!

ahhh, lorianne, me too. a very drowzy zazen sitting for me as well. good practice on returning again and again.

i was able to sit for 20 minutes. even though it was sleepy, it felt good to rest in the stillness for that long.

peace to you all.

Sat at 6:00 pm EST for 20 minutes, thinking (woops!) about you all. Actually it was a very peaceful, calm time and during it I got a sudden insight about something I need to do in a relationship, not to do with anything here, but most welcome. I felt very open so maybe that's why it came. And the time went by very fast. Best wishes to all...
