Yeah, I should have mentioned walking to as a way to combat SAD - another really important reason why I find heat harder to bear, because I can't refresh and rev up my mood through exercise.
And I love "Writing Down the Bones" too - every time I read it I get something new from it.
Ruth, it's always good to hear from you. Definitely, walking helps. My response was focused on whether meditation helps because that was the question Beth asked. But walking — for both the exercise and the light, and indeed for me, the contact with nature — is very helpful. You may inspire me to reread "Writing Down the Bones" — it's a good one!
Jean, I hope you are feeling better this week. It's no fun being sick!
Thanks for asking, Jean. I've regained most but not quite all my strength after that flu. I still feel easily fatigued. I have a frozen shoulder which isn't helping me feel at my best, and therapy is torture as I discovered this morning. But I'll get there. Thank goodness for warming temperatures, for partial sun, for walks and writing, for love and friends... Life is a richly dappled thing.
Hello, everyone. I'm still having a hard time getting back in my usual meditation, writing, and online habits; maybe I, too, need to do more walking. Today was my campus meditation group, so I'm chalking that in the "win" column.

I'm fine thanks. Seem to have fended off incipient flu with mega-doses of echinacea and elderflower. How are you?
