I had the most extraordinary day yesterday with an old friend - we met at Faema for lunch, then walked my dog through this treed, older neighbourhood, then saw Kings and Queen, a complex film I may have to see again, then ate Greek food out in the Beaches and closed the restaurant, and went for a long walk on the boardwalk by Lake Ontario in the hot, humid night air, the waves lapping in the dark with a most gentle rhythm. We did have a short romance once, years ago, which has left a beautiful connection of acceptance. We talked and laughed the whole day - he's an architect and a really good massage therapist/rolfer, and quite Buddhist. Such wonderful comaraderie - there couldn't have been a better meditation (although I did a half hour meditation on home before I left - his stuff has been in storage for 11 years, oh my. He sleeps on a pull out couch in his office, which has two rooms: one for architecture, one for bodywork, and clients are now coming from all over the province by word-of-mouth. He's 6'4" of Hungarian background and looks a little like Ken Wilbur :).

Love to all! Hey, my blawg is for art, mun! Not the gossip of my life :) Let me know if tid bits like these are too far off topic.

Though I must say that being with someone for an afternoon and evening and feeling such gentle, humorous, supportive synchronicity is a marvel in itself.

It reaffirms.

Hey everyone...

I'm checking in from the conference, where there's wifi & we're currently on break. We did 20 minutes of Zen meditation this morning along with some chanting...tonight we'll have a Muslim prayer service, and a Christian worship service tomorrow.

In a break-out group on "blogging meditation," I talked about this site as being an interesting example of "virtual sangha," with everyone pursuing their own practice while providing support across various spiritual traditions. The folks in my group thought this was a pretty cool idea, and I'd have to agree...
