I have read a bunch of books by Jane Roberts (of Seth fame) and in one of them he talks about how unnatural it is to separate sleep from waking hours in the way that we do. He suggests an experiment where you sleep when you are tired and wake whenever you wake... or wake yourself up after a few hours sleep and then sleep again after a few hours.
The whole point, I think, is to lessen the polarity in our lives so that everything is not literally night and day.
I think this is an extremely interesting concept and tried it at one point years ago. Can't really remember the results and I don't think I did it for very long. Am thinking it's time to try again.
My illness is slowly clearing, seems to be following the weather patterns right now.
The energy from this meditation is still dizzying and that combined with the sinus thing is currently like being in a trance all day long.
lolabola - I read those books too. Sleeping and dreaming are two of my favorite things ... food for creativity. I often have a short nap during the day so I can dream again.
Working a split shift was the best time of all. Cooking in a vegetarian kitchen, we prepared breakfast and dinner. I slept for about four hours each between those two shifts ... never being far away from a dream state or an awake state ... "lessening the polarity"
But for now, I think I'll just shoot myself ... had passport photo taken this morning
Janice: it is an immutable universal law that passport photos are always terrible. :-)
Just checking in: the discussion about sleep has been valuable to me and I will revisit it. I am aware that I do not help myself sometimes by staying up late unnecessarily, (TV, blogs, reading) even though I know I am tired.
I sense that the dreaded concept - self-discipline - may need to be dragged out and dusted down ... though today's comments have set off another train of thought.
Still sitting in the mornings.
I am working this weekend, helping out a friend on his stall at a trade fair. I started today ... very enjoyable indeed but dealing with crowds of people for 8+ hours is draining .. time to go to bed I think.
Lolabola: Hope your health continues to improve ...
