Brenda, what a hard situation, and how honest and compassionate you are about it. My love to you, and Beth, and Devon. Having given up on my own family a long time ago - something I will never be at peace with, though I don't really feel I had an alternative - I have nothing but admiration for your warmth and honesty in relationships relationships, and for Jude's generous and thoughtful wish to pass on memories of your mother.

All this is so hard, but a little easier, perhaps, one breath at a time.

Oh Brenda, I'm sorry to hear your news. What a tough situation! I appreciate the balanced way you are trying to see it. I tend to agree with the others who have said that things left unsaid tend to haunt much more than any possibly failed attempt if one tries. At least that's been my experience. Your plan sounds very compassionate all round and I hope things go smoothly for all.

And I like very much what Jean said about "one breath at a time." That has come to make a difference for me at difficult moments.

... oh, heck! HUGS ALL ROUND!!! ;-)
