Nearly noon, and I am just getting up and just sat for half an hour, after a tiring day of meetings yesterday with my cohousing group. All is still up in the air - difficult to rest in.

I've been off work since middle of last week and not going back until Monday - the university closes for a week and I took 2 days leave to round it up. Had much to do with cohousing mneetings, somefreelance editing jobs, but also time for friends and cultural things (Lorianne: Winslow Homer exhibition - the first ever of his work in UK; lovely)and getting up later and walking and hanging out and more meditation than usual. Very nice to contact a feeling of self that is a little bit more spacious than usual, even if it would take much longer for stress, preoccupation and sleep deficit to really lift - in fact they seem to get bigger and fill the space.

May you be well, may you be happy.

Oh Jean, you sound relaxed, quietly exuberant, peaceful. I know it's just a respite, but how wonderful to have some time off.

I know a man who's retired and co-bought a large house in the country with two other retired gentlemen. They rent out some rooms as well. He's a writer and created a writer's group which meets weekly in the large living room. He has company when he wants it, privacy when he wants it, and he couldn't happier.

I'm such a solitary type that I don't know if something like that would work for me. Can we hear more about your possible plans? They sound very enticing...

Meditated last night for 15 min, and then 5-10 min of loving-kindness, the latter seeming to have a significant effect on my closest relationships. It's okay if I direct the 'winds' or 'engeries' in this direction, isn't it? From the personal to the political...

Jude, I don't think we're gloating as much as reveling in the relief of it no longer being winter! I'm with you, autumn is my second-favorite season.

Mary, if there were a party, you are definitely one I'd want there!

Jean, I'm glad you have a little elbow room in your schedule, even if it does get rapidly filled. And the sense of contact with self you describe... can only be good! May YOU be well & happy!

Off to start my 5 minutes.
