About walking meditations: I’ve not been keeping up with my goal to walk with Jean in her 1,000 mile commitment. Probably a bit too ambitious for me just now, so I might try for 1000 km. ….. BUT ….
Good news at work this morning. As I was leaving the hospice unit after a long night shift, I saw this notice on the bulletin board. Peter Renner is coming to our hospital to offer a series of workshops for staff and volunteers.

Instruction will be offered by Peter Renner, a PCU volunteer who's been learning about Buddhist and Christian meditation for ten years, including 20 months at a Zen monastery. He holds an Ed.D. from UBC and is currently in the end-of-life training program at the Alaya Institute/Zen Hospice of San Francisco. __________________________________
The Pilgramage pages at his webpage will interest those of you who are walkers …some lovely photos of “Walking across Switzerland”

if you scroll to bottom you’ll see an “About” option, and you can go from there to the Pilgrimage pages … and peek into the Hermitage on Galiano Island, a one-hour ferry ride from my home. I’ll be there as soon as it opens in the spring to walk the length and breadth of the island.
Wish I could read the pages at the Franciscan Monastery in Germany. Is that near where you live, Udge?
Sitting continues as usual every day. Really wanting to get to a more regular schedule. Going to try walking early morning before sitting instead of the other way round.
janice, the photos were quite lovely... oh for walking across Europe!
devon, hi from a non-storming place :)
'Twas me who deleted the earlier comment as being far too grumbly and personal and just too much. My comments tend to be way too looong.
My just before bed meditation has improved considerably. Before I meditated usually in the afternoon followed by a deep nap, I now find I no longer need the nap at all. Whatever is happening at bedtime is sufficient to hold my energy more steady during the whole day. I am appreciative of this.
