That is very generous of Julian. I agree with what's been said so far. The date is much more important to me than the "100 Day" period - it's like a calendar where we tick off the days, not to add up time or get to a goal, but as a way of keeping track of where we've been. Since we will be close to the end of the calendar year, we could just do the simple thing, have an inbetween period, and then begin with "1" in January and just keep marking the days all year. Let's opt for the simplest, most minimal, common-denominator solutions; that way we will be the most inclusive and the most compassionate both to ourselves and anyone else who might want to join us. Ruth, thank you for spurring us on to think about this next step. (I suspect that those of you in Europe will be up long before I am most days - and way before Dale! - so be careful what you commit to!)
I too would like to continue, would be thrilled if Julian could design us a simple template, would like to stick with the daily posting of the date, and would be happy if we could set it up so that several people had the right to post the new date, not letting it fall exclusively on Dale.
This doesn't exclude also having the possibility to post longer entries, as well as comments. My only reservation about this is that with more opinion and information it might be more difficult to keep the whole thing so open to any approach and tradition at all.
Not sure if I favour a new hundred days or removing any reference to a specific time period.
Would like to think more about these last two.
Something else I was thinking about, though I don't know if it is feasible with the time differences, is that I would like it very much if on Day 100 we could all sit briefly at the same time and call to mind each of the others. What do you think? I think the time difference between Dale and Ruth is 8 or 9 hours, with others somewhere in the middle, so it would not be easy.
Have been sitting for a few minutes every day and longer periods every now and then.
I think the idea of sitting somehow together on day 100 is wonderful Jean. With the time difference and me having a concert in Metz that night it might be hard. I reckon just before the concert (which is probably around 8.30) would be possible for me if Dale coule manage that. it would probably be around 11am for him. How is every one else fixed (or not) that day?
